Multiple Membership Cards (Loyalty Management)

Hi Expert,

 

In my scenario we use cards provided by an external provider. Customers register with the external provider and the card issues outside the system. They can register their cards in CRM and points earned with these cards get interfaced to the customer. At least this is the idea, it is not implemented yet, therefore I could not see for myself how this one works.

 

Since we are not in control of issuing the cards, it might happen that the customer have two membership cards.

 

As far as I can understand SAP can store multiple cards and it can be used in account identification in the webIC. But as far as SAP is concerned the link between the customer and the loyalty program is the membership. Points (in Point Account, and Point Account Sets) are linked to the membership and not to the membership cards. Even in the sales order it is the membership ID which gets stored and not the membership card.

 

Is the above correct? Am I correct assuming that with standard functionality I cannot link points to membership cards, and I cannot tell which card was used when the order was created? All the points go against the membership.
