Update milestone date

Hello,

I'm looking to update a milestone date ( In Opp Header) with today's date when the status of the Opp is changed to a specific status.  Could this be done via date type, date rule ? Or can only be achieved via ABAP ?

I have read in a post outside of this forum that indicates a solution to use date rule with SAP CRM event handler , it doesn't give any details as it is a subscription service. Does any one have experience of this scenario using the event handler ?
